You very eloquently and humorously describe the conflicting feelings that come from raising little people - it is no simple feat! Now try to imagine how jerky your 20-year-old baby can be when he so chooses! This person who used to be cradled inside your own body now looks at you like you could not be more stupid if you tried. He secretly wants your advice, but cannot stand to take it, because you are just so terribly stupid. As rough as I remember those days being when he was offering up his puke as a gift, I would take the puke over the condom plugging the toilet. -Sigh- It may be time for me to "put my child out."
